Catherine, Caitlin and I took the opportunity of the good weather to take a visit to Walhalla
Walhalla is a historic town 155 kms from home which after the discovery of gold in 1863 Walhalla thrived as one of Australia's richest towns with over 4000 people living in the area at its peak in the 1880s. When gold ran out in 1914 the decline was rapid, and for most of the 20th century Walhalla was frozen in time.
Electricity was only connected in 1998, but now many of its original features are being faithfully restored and opened to visitors.

This website is currently over 90GB in size and contains approx 30,000 photos taken by us since 2003, it is hosted at home on an old HP Proliant server running Lotus Domino 8.5 which is connected to the Internet via a dodgy ADSL 2 connection that continuously drops out :(
If you are reading this then you have overcome all the odds and managed to connect to the site during the brief window that everything is actually working.
