PermaLink Holiday 2010 Easter in Mallacoota07/04/2010 10:39 AM

Easter at  Warwick's house in Mallacoota for 4 days.

See the Pictures Here

Leaving after work on Wednesday afternoon we had a relatively good run up and arrived a little after 10pm that evening. On the return leg home on Monday we encountered some of the worst traffic I have ever seen with one section taking over an hour to travel a little over 20kms from Rosedale to Traralgon.

Fiona, Wendy and Warwick were also staying in Mallacoota for the Easter weekend and arrived at Warwick’s house a few hours before us after spending a few days exploring Canberra.

Having explored and photographed Mallacoota and the surrounding area on our numerous visits and battling the Flu the motivation to take photos was low, so a large portion of the pictures on this trip are taken by Fiona, Catherine and Caitlin.

PermaLink Holiday 2009 (Mallacoota Again)11/07/2009 09:29 PM

We had a great time staying at Warwicks house in Mallacoota for 5 days

See the Pictures Here

We left straight after work on Friday night hitting the road about 7pm and stopping for dinner on the way. Along with Caitlin getting carsick we completed the 520km trip arriving in Mallacoota a little after 1am.

There are not as many photos as I would normally take whilst away and to be honest I’m all a bit over taking photos at the moment. Normally there would be photos for everyday but as I didn’t take photos for days at a time I have just combined all the photos into the one album.

We started Geocaching on this trip and our first ever Geocache find was just behind Warwick’s house. My mate Stevo was the first to tell me about this a couple of years ago but recently Jamie started go out looking for caches whilst on his lunch time bike rides, so I thought we should give it a go as well.

Photos are:
  • Sunrise over Bastian Point
  • The resident Kangaroos behind Warwicks house.
  • Cath fishing off the jetty, with only 1 nibble over 2 days.
  • The climb to Genoa Peak, which both girls amazingly did and which took us a bit over 3 hours return to do.
  • World War 2 Bunkers, including the little known hidden bunker in bush behind the airport.
  • Sheep No.7 left at a Geocache overlooking Orbost.

7 days in Mallacoota Victoria

We had a great time staying at Warwicks house in Mallacoota but the return to Melbourne was made even more painful with a new weather record being broken with 3 consecutive days of 43 Deg plus heat.

18 Days in Robe SA

This is our second visit to the Robe Long beach Caravan Park, this time we spent 18 days there and unfortunately the weather was a little disappointing. Of the 18 days there was only a couple of days that the wind wasn’t blowing a gale and only a few where the temperatures peaked above the mid 20 Deg’s.
