Stones Outstation - Major Works10/15/2007 11:39 AMAfter 3 weekends of work at Stones Outstation it is in far better shape than when we first visited it for the initial site inspection late in July 2007.

On the 15-16 September the almost completely overgrown walking path to the hut was cleared and the surrounding scrub growing around the hut was also removed. The upright posts were cut and prepared for the following working bee.

On the 22-23 September the 12 upright posts were all removed and replaced one by one. The door was rehung and the windows replaced.

On the 13-14 October the ground around the outside of the hut was levelled to provide run off away from the hut and the level was increased inside the hut to match the outside ground level. The fireplace was dug out and the bricks were used to replace the dilapidated fireplace whilst the external chimney was worked on.
