Holiday In Tasmania
We have always wanted to go to Tassie and we had been planning to go a couple of years ago but it never happened, so when Jetstar had a special offer of tickets for $19 each way we jumped at the opportunity.
Without any forward planning we snapped up 3 tickets and decided that i would take the car across on the ferry and the girls would fly across. Looking at all the different scenarios, staying in cabins, tenting or taking the caravan across, the caravan was the preferable option.
Easter at Warwick's house in Mallacoota for 4 days.
Leaving after work on Wednesday afternoon we had a relatively good run up and arrived a little after 10pm that evening. On the return leg home on Monday we encountered some of the worst traffic I have ever seen with one section taking over an hour to travel a little over 20kms from Rosedale to Traralgon.
Fiona, Wendy and Warwick were also staying in Mallacoota for the Easter weekend and arrived at Warwick’s house a few hours before us after spending a few days exploring Canberra.
Having explored and photographed Mallacoota and the surrounding area on our numerous visits and battling the Flu the motivation to take photos was low, so a large portion of the pictures on this trip are taken by Fiona, Catherine and Caitlin.
It is now our third visit to Marlo on the Victorian coast
The caravan will be at Marlo for a little over a month, with us staying for 12 days and then Malcolm and Puk staying for a fortnight before we return again for a few days and to pick the van up.
Our second visit to Marlo on the Victorian coast staying for 12 nights with friends:
Karyn, Scott, and their children Cameron and Holly staying for 5 nights.
Penny and Andrew and their children Nicholas, Emma, William and Amelia staying for 9 nights
Penny’s parents Roger and June staying for 2 nights.
We had good weather with most days in the low to mid 20’s and except for one evening very little rain.
7 days in Mallacoota on the Victorian Coast
We had a great time staying at Warwicks house in Mallacoota but the return to Melbourne was made even more painful with a new weather record being broken with 3 consecutive days of 43 Deg plus heat.
4 days at Marlo on the Victorian Coast
Fiona, Michael, Cath, Caitlin, Megan and Matthew all camping at Marlo.
4 days in the Grampians Victoria
Fiona, Michael, Warwick, Cath, Caitlin, Megan and Matthew all camping in The Grampians.
Holiday to Robe South Australia
This is our second visit to the Robe Long beach Caravan Park, this time we spent 18 days there and unfortunately the weather was a little disappointing. Of the 18 days there was only a couple of days that the wind wasn’t blowing a gale and only a few where the temperatures peaked above the mid 20 Deg’s.
